Scholars Portal down May 4/5

The University of Toronto’s Network Operations team has scheduled maintenance from Friday May 4th at 23:59 until May 5th at 04:00 (EST). The maintenance window is being used to upgrade existing network hardware. During this time, ALL Scholarsportal services (including Journals, Books, RACER, WizFolio, ODESI, GeoPortal, Refworks, SFX (GetIt!)) will be unavailable.

ProQuest® will be performing infrastructure maintenance from Saturday, May 5, 2012, at 22:00 ET to Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 10:00 ET.
The following products will be unavailable during these windows:

  • New and Legacy ProQuest platform products, ProQuest Historical Newspapers (traditional and graphical K12 interface), American Periodicals Series
  • Chadwyck-Healey products with domain names ending with chadwyck.com
  • ProQuest Digital Microfilm and online dissertation products

March 24 Scheduled Maintenance – ProQuest

The maintenance originally planned for Mar. 17 has been moved to March 25.

ProQuest® will be rescheduling the infrastructure maintenance window planned for March 17, 2012 to Saturday, March 24, 2012. A twelve (12) hour maintenance window will be required for this maintenance. The window will take place from Saturday, March 24, 2012, at 22:00 ET to Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 10:00 ET.

ProQuest (new platform) maintenance Mar 17

ProQuest® will be performing infrastructure maintenance. A twelve (12) hour maintenance window from Saturday, March 17, 2012, at 10:00pm ET to Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 10:00am ET will be required for this maintenance.

• All products on the new ProQuest platform will be unavailable.

Elsevier Science Direct, Sciverse Scopus maintenance – Mar 17

Elsevier is implementing some upgrades to the SciVerse suite on 8:30AM EDT-9:30PM EDT, Saturday, March 17th 2012. While they expect things to go smoothly, it is possible that users may experience temporary service disruptions while accessing SciVerse, SciVal, Journal Consult and the Admin tool on these dates.

Some highlights of the upcoming changes:
• ScienceDirect: Increasing search speed and article rendering; solving issues with PDF downloading and RSS feeds
• Scopus: Increasing interoperability with Hub allows for continued discovery across web and patent sources
• Hub: Adding sortable refine results filters to make searches even more relevant
